Martina O'Shea is a visual artist whose work delves into the intersections of language, poetry, dreams, and the relentless flow of information. Since 2020, she has been forging collaborations with writers, artists, and more recently a neuroscientist—creating a fertile ground for unexpected discoveries. Central to her practice is an ongoing, evolving research process, exploring objects, materials, and methods that keep her work in a state of perpetual transformation.

With a fascination for the stories, traces, and materials tied to specific sites and a curiosity to unlock the hidden potential within everyday objects, sounds, and images, encouraging them to unfold into new realms. As a result, her work remains fluid, ever-evolving, poetic and in a state of remix.

Methods of display are integral to her practice, Balancing the ethereal and the tangible, her practice has often been described as akin to the workings of a synthesizer—blurring boundaries, amplifying resonance, and creating a rich, multifaceted experience.

As well as her art practice Martina is also an Associate Lecturer in City and Guilds of London Art School and is a volunteer for Arts Emergency.
