Phoebe Massey

Phoebe Massey is an independent electronic and experimental producer and performer. She layers and collages sound to create emotionally led, otherworldly spaces, developing a style that is entirely her own. Singing since a young age, she uses her voice live, harmonising, distorting, and looping it alongside hardware such as a synthesiser, drum machine, and sampler. With a background in textile design, Phoebe approaches sound as material. She works slowly and intuitively, stitching together memories, observations, spoken words, and field recordings.

Each piece is shaped organically, built live layer by layer, allowing space for improvisation and chance. Live sets unfold as continuous performances, moving between impact and fragility, where the weight of the drum machine and low synth frequencies collide with quiet moments and fragments of her voice. Combining bold gestures with nostalgia and playful movements, her music shifts thoughts to unexpected places.
